As a community event, content for Hadoop Summit is selected by a committee of Hadoop experts, committers, and industry leaders. Twenty-five people were involved in selecting this year’s sessions from the over 350 submitted abstracts. Each track was made up of a Track Chair and a selection committee who reviewed each and every submission before making their selections for this year’s agenda. We would like to thank these folks for their dedication and commitment to driving a great conference.

Talend CTO and Eclipse & OW2 Board Member
Cédric Carbone is Talend’s CTO (Chief Technical Officer). Prior to joining Talend in 2006, he managed the Java practice at Neurones, a leading systems integrator in France. Cédric has also lectured at several universities on technical topics such as XML or Web Services. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and an advanced degree in Document Engineering.
TRACK: Future of Apache Hadoop
Evert Lammerts is co-founder and CEO of Lucipher, a company that is building the first end-to-end encrypted and verifiably secure data platform in the cloud. Before starting down this exciting road, he built Hadoop-based services at SURFsara, the Dutch center for high performance computing, from the ground up. He is founder of the Netherlands Hadoop user group nlhug.org, lectured on subjects related to Hadoop at universities and conferences, was a jury member and organiser of the Peter Norvig Web Data Science Award 2012-2013 and chaired the content selection of the Operating Hadoop track at the first Hadoop Summit Europe in 2013.

Steve Loughran is a member of technical staff at Hortonworks, where he works on leading-edge developments within the Hadoop ecosystem, including service availability, cloud infrastructure integration, and emerging layers in the Hadoop stack. Previously, he worked at HP Laboratories on large-scale distributed systems, including cloud computing infrastructures, dynamic Hadoop clusters and configuration management.
He is the author of Ant in Action, a member of the Apache Software Foundation, an active committer on the Hadoop core projects; a lapsed committer on Apache Ant and Axis. He lives and works in Bristol, England. For fun he falls off bicycles in the local woodland.
TRACK: Hadoop for Business Applications and Development
Gary leads a team of architects, developers and testers in the agile development of data and analytics solutions. The focus of D&A TechSolutions is raising the bar on data engineering, how data application teams can use the Hadoop ecosystem to build functional business applications to solve real problems. Helping organisations navigate a pathway to Hadoop adoption. He believes mainstream enterprise adoption is the key to accelerating innovation in the usability and developer productivity of the ecosystem and platform.
